On April 16, the officials at Doordarshan revealed that the shows’ viewers have crossed 7.7 crore viewers mark and become the most-watched television series in the world. And no, not just in India, Ramayan has even broken the TRP record of Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory and become the most-watched program globally. These shows were loved so much that they have broken all the records and made fans go crazy.
These shows were re-telecasted on Doordarshan channel when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown to curtail the spread of COVID 19. It hasn't been long since Ramanand Sagar's iconic show Ramayan and BR Chopra's show Mahabharat returned to the television screens after over three decades.
